We are looking for an energetic, caring, hospitable person to join our tasting room team.
A part-time position with the aim to grow into a full-time schedule.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.
Wine Educator Storytellers are the heart and soul of the team.
With your ability to engage and excite guests, the essence of all the great wineries and other local businesses we partner with will become legendary.
Combining your caring, innovative spirit with your multitasking skills will be key to delivering the unique, unforgettable experiences that’ll put a smile on every guest’s face.
Your skills will also come in handy when supporting the execution of flawless private events.
*Responsibilities include but won't be limited to:* \* Supporting guests with wine, beer and cider education while tasting, helping them select products to taste while sharing the stories of partner wineries, breweries and cideries as well as our community; educating guests on what makes our diverse portfolio special.
\* Pivoting between a variety of tasks while maintaining high engagement levels.
\* Work private events (mainly weddings) as needed \* Continuously improving hospitality practices and guest experience \* Performing all day-to-day customer-related tasks such as answering the phone, running register, preparing and serving food in a timely manner without compromising quality, packing and handing over purchase orders \* Facilities maintenance such as clearing, cleaning and sanitizing tables and tasting stations, restocking shelves and fridges, cleaning and polishing wine glasses, general cleaning including main tasting room, deck, lawn, kitchen, bathrooms and storage area.
*Additional things you could get involved in:* · Find ways to improve the efficiency and profitability of the operation · Help create and structure new Tastings, Food and Wine menus · Help create images and content for social media · Create new guest experiences · Propose innovative ways to promote and get involved with the local community \*\*\*Average schedules will require you to work weekends and afterhours on a regular basis.
\*\*\*Being on your feet, walking, lifting up to 60lbs and bending will be part of the everyday life.
Helping move heavier items (like tables for private events) will be required occasionally.
\*\*\*NY State alcohol serving requirements - Must be 18 years of age or older \*\*\*We follow all state laws related to serving adult beverages, including confirming legal drinking age as well as local food handling regulations.
*What we offer* \* $15.
50 - $16.
50 per hour based on experience \* PLUS participation in weekly Sales Bonus \* PLUS 3-shares in Pooled Tips Sharing Program, paid weekly.
\* If working more than 20 hours per week – On the first day of the month following 30 days of employment, Healthy NY Health Insurance plan that’s paid 50% by the company and 50% by the team member for one individual.
Add-ons beyond the basic plan such as opting for a family plan or including dental or vision, could be added at the team member’s expense if the company’s group policy qualifies for them.

\* 40 hours paid sick leave, accrued at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.

*Experience/Knowledge and Skills Required* · Prior hospitality experience preferred · Wine, beer and cider knowledge preferred · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Professionalism and ability to build strong relationships · Multi-tasking and open to new learnings · Effective time management · Ability to work independently and with others *About Once Finger Lakes* We are a Regional Tasting Room that tells the stories of some of the Finger Lakes most notable wineries, breweries and cideries and their ultra-premium products.
Our self-service wine and beer dispensers allow customers to pour any drink themselves.
However, they still rely on us to recommend products and learn about them.
Once (pronounced AWN-say) is the Spanish word for the number eleven, which is the number of lakes that form the Finger Lakes.
