Job Title: North America RSC Design to Cost Manager
Job Location: Hornell, NY.
Job Type: Full Time
Rate of Pay: $121,000/year to $130,000/year
Duties: Animate Design to Cost (DtC) within Tenders and Projects by applying DtC tools and methodologies.
Define the DtC roadmap regarding priorities, design review, gate review, and business awards.
Deploy activities in all fields as per roadmap, including Train Cost management and Product Cost optimization management in Electrical and Mechanical fields to secure or improve Project Gross Margin.
Ensure DtC deliverables are delivered according to the Development for Quality (DFQ) cycle.
Coordinate DtC resources to set up priorities and clear guidance to development teams, to achieve cost objectives.
Design and validate potential train cost, and implement targets.
Lead identification of potential cost savings in Products and Projects.
Prepare strategy to deploy optimizations across projects and establish Project Specific Design through a cost management plan.
Define the Recurring Cost target by IBS (Installation Breakdown Structure) of the train with input and approval from project stakeholders.
Based on benchmarks, identify and highlight the main cost stakes and propose priorities to the Tender or Project stakeholders, with respect to DtC targets vs.
Recurring Cost to Date of the train.
Staff the team for task execution, delivering as per QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) commitments.
Negotiate headcounts budget, and define target tenders and projects, with local management.
Identify best practices and coordinate with Central Métier to deploy across Alstom sites.
Establish DtC operational priorities and governance with métiers and project teams, such as steering committees, KPIs, and follow-up meetings.
Implement relevant deliverables to monitor the DtC key success factors, such as Cost Calculation Note and Cost tracking.
Work with the standard process and associated tools including Benchmark, target cost, business cases, could cost, should cost, and CPU (Cost Per Unit) during development.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a North America RSC Design to Cost Manager-related occupation.
