Altec Lansing Santana ll Asking$550 Beautiful pair of vintage Altec Lansing Santana II audiophile speakers in excellent condition.
Santana II's were manufactured by Altec Lansing in their heyday from the mid 1970's to the early 1980's, and this pair has all the correct/stock drivers.
The woofers were re-foamed of course -- and both woofers still have the original Altec cones.
They feature a powerful 12" woofer (on Altec's standard 13 1/2" frame) and a five inch tweeter.
All drivers work great--deep powerful bass from both woofers and great treble from both tweeters.
I bought them from a close friend a few years ago and I had new capacitors put in the crossovers a while ago because after 20+ years, capacitors start to lose their accuracy.
They used Solen capacitors which are recommended by Great Plains Audio (who still manufacture authentic Altec Lansing parts for vintage audiophile Altec Lansing Speakers using original genuine Altec Lansing tooling and schematics).
The cabinets are gorgeous--not perfect of course after four decades, but beautiful nonetheless.
There are minimal small nicks or chips etc.
-- they are hard to see unless your face is practically touching the speakers.
For their age--they are in remarkable condition! Even the faux slate tops look wonderful.
